Another great year has come to a close for Motor Culture Asia and this time we added a sweet bonus for everyone – National Bikers Weekend!
In all aspects NBW was a great success at the Singapore Flyer; thousands of bikers, tens of thousands of consumers and visitors, huge showcases of the very best motorcycling brands in the business, lifestyle sales, motorcycle contests and solid entertainment for everyone from day one. Catch all the excitement of NBW as we preview the last big motorcycle event for 2008.
Two new motorcycle brands have also arrived to our shores just in time for NBW. Aprilia Singapore showcased a fleet of their latest high-end and entry level motorcycles focused on a much better built and service quality with their collaboration with Piaggio group. Husaberg from Sweden’s enduro elites was also launched at NBW, with Swedish Ambassador Mr Pär Ahlberger officially opening the event.
We travel to the outskirts of Bangkok Thailand for the Honda Asian Cup round of motorcycle races. Boon Siew Honda sent two young riders and they competed with the best out there, including top seasoned riders from Japan, and getting some good results too! Riders who love to tour where out in force on their bikes at Asia’s premier 3 Nation Charity Ride, covering ground to Surat Thani Thailand in a manner of days and having fun with the hundreds of pilgrim two-wheelers who congregate at the 3NCR year after year.
On home soil we take a look at Tuas Enduro X, where local riders ride the hell out of their bikes within the allocated two hours. ‘Iron Butt’ titles were the right choice of awards for these hardcore riders.
With so much happening and so many new brands arriving in Singapore’s motorcycling culture this year, we can’t wait to see what more is in store for 2009! Thank you for supporting Motor Culture Asia and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year all you bikers!
