Editor's Note
I hate the rain. I hate it when it makes the roads crazy and more slippery than it already is. I hate it when it fogs my helmet visor when I stop at the traffic lights. I hate it when it penetrates my weatherproofs and wets my motorcycle at parts where it’s going to be a torture to clean. Singapore bikers have learnt to live with the seasonal wet weather here and some have even adapted to an old saying “rain more ride more!” Unfortunately this saying doesn’t further elaborate the “…but be extra careful” part and the rainy season has taken its usual heavy toll on motorcycle accidents as expected. Take care, cos it’s still wet out there.
Well, the holiday period also seems to have come and gone again with the usual motorcycle culture hoo-ha, festive fun and games and general riding all round. For the MCA crew, it was a good chance to kick back, relax after the initial nine months of hard work bringing you the best of two-wheeled Singapore, and get ourselves ready for a new year of fresh challenges on the MCA circuit. There’s never short of new things to see and fresh bikers to meet when you talk about motor culture.
Last MCA issue we stressed on road safety for motorcycles and it’s still a major concern with the local authorities. The fact remains true for all the two-wheeled lovers in us – we have to constantly stay vigilant when occupying the road with other motor vehicles. There is another saying in Singapore “If you’ve never fallen then you are not a rider” but again I missed the point “it’s ok if you have to fall, but make damn sure you can get up after that!” Never be too eager to pay the ultimate price. Stay alert. Stay alive. And have more riding fun in 2007!
Lets enjoy 2007.
