MCA     Volume 2 Issue 9     SOLD OUT

Editor's Note

Welcome back to December’s super-duper bumper issue of Motor Culture Asia! The last few months have been jammed-packed with motorcycling events particularly in the land of our neighbour. Kuala Lumpur played host to the 3-Nation Charity Ride, MotoGP, the Asian International Motorcycle Expo and the KL Bike Fest, giving ample reasons for bikers from all over the region to gather in one single location for a wonderful two-day-two-wheeled melee. Enjoy our in-depth coverage of these events in this issue of MCA.

Back in Singapore we have FMX bikes catching big air as they jump on a specially-built ramp at the East Coast. Super motards also added to the action as races continued on Malaysia’s Nusajaya track west of Singapore. Catch our exclusive interview with Doc Dol, runner-up of the 2007 Malaysian Super Series (MSS) Novice class championship, a shining example of how our local boys are taking the racetrack battle to Sepang.

The lady riders of Harley grace the pages of this issue with their sweet presence and sweeter customised V-twins. Varsity riders at NTU also hosted their NRC 2007/2008 recruitment drive on campus, inviting BBDC to showcase defensive riding skills to the student masses. We also have a chat with Roberto Fabbri, Managing Director for BikeAsia, on how BikeAsia 2008 is shaping up and why Singapore is the best location to host it. BikeAsia 2008 is all set to be the one good motorcycle and bicycle show in Asia!

Motorcycles reviewed this issue include the KTM 690 (Urban assault vehicle of choice for the fun-loving), the Moto Guzzi Griso (Vintage, style and performance all rolled into one, can you beat that?), the Honda CBF1000 (Big capacity riding never felt so easy) and the Yamaha X-1R (Scooter that looks like it came off the MotoGP designer board). We did say this was a super bumper issue of MCA didn’t we?

This time round we would like to thank our readers who have been supporting MCA since our humble beginnings. News from our distributors is that MCA is now in their list of top-ten selling motorsports magazines on the racks. This simply means that Singapore riders out there are enjoying and following motorcycling culture to the max!

Motor Culture Asia will continue to be the leading motorcycle magazine in Singapore. With the confidence and strong support from our current advertisers and contributors we hope more will come join us to create a bigger and more robust motorcycling culture in Singapore. We welcome YOU to come contribute to the growing MCA family.

Let’s ride more in 2008!
